In the Hills Fishing Excursions is a full time fly fishing guide service, located in the Texas Hill Country. Bill Higdon, owner and full time guide, provides guided fly fishing trips on the rivers and streams of the Texas Hill Country. Bill is 58 years of age, and began fly fishing the Texas Hill Country, over 16 years ago. After retirement from Dell Computers in 2000, he moved to banks of the Guadalupe River and became a full time guide on the rivers and streams he has loved and fished for the past 16+ years. Whether floating the Guadalupe or wade fishing one of the other Hill Country rivers or streams, you'll enjoy spending a day on the water with one of In The Hills Fishing pro fly fishing guides (see rates page for guides bio). How we float: Clackacraft Drift Boats & Aire Fishing Rafts. Both boats are professionally outfitted guide boats.
TROUT +
We offer guided excursions for rainbow and brown trout on the tail-waters of the Guadalupe River, below Canyon Lake. The typical fish caught range from six to eighteen inches. Larger are less common but a distinct possibility.
LARGEMOUTH AND SMALLMOUTH BASS, GUADALUPE BASS, WHITE BASS, RIO GRANDE PERCH, +
We also provide guided excursions on Llano, San Marcos, Blanco, Pedernales, the Upper Guadalupe and the Colorado River. The typical fish are Smallmouth Bass, Guadalupe Bass, Largemouth Bass, White Bass, Perch, Rio Grande Perch and other species of freshwater fish. Full day excursions include, all flies, stream side lunch, snacks and refreshments. We can also provide rods and reels upon request. There is a maximum of two anglers per trip. All anglers must have a Texas Fishing License and a Fresh Water Stamp. Note: Due to heavy river recreation in the summer months (May to September), trips on the lower Guadalupe are limited to week day trips In the summer months, we recommend the San Marcos, Colorado, and Llano Rivers (May-Sept). This can be some of the most productive fishing in the Texas Hill Country. See "Reports" for the latest reports on fishing. We now have a new discussion group for anglers fly fishing the Texas Hill Country. Check it out at Hill Country Fly Fishers This is an e-mail list dedicated to the discussion of Fly Fishing the Texas Hill Country. It is not specie specific except in the sense that those discussed should be found in the rivers and streams of the Texas Hill Country.
